Eighteenth Street Oriental Rugs

Eighteenth Street Oriental Rugs operates as Birmingham's oldest rug shop, establishing itself as a foundational cornerstone of the region's interior design landscape. Located at 1829 29th Avenue South in Downtown Homewood, Alabama, this retail gallery offers convenient access for local homeowners and trade professionals searching for exceptional floor coverings. Managed by the sister and brother team of Paige Drummond and Jim Howard, the shop actively collaborates with premier international sources across the globe. This global network allows them to curate an expansive inventory that spans antique, vintage, contemporary, and classic styles. Their carefully assembled selection features old, new, modern, and traditional rugs designed to elevate diverse architectural spaces. By combining decades of deep industry heritage with an evolving inventory of distinct textiles, the showroom provides an authoritative destination for high-end home furnishings in the greater Birmingham metropolitan area.

Every transaction at the gallery is structured around a tailored customer experience that simplifies the acquisition process for individual property owners and interior designers alike. The staff leads clients through every milestone of selection, offering complimentary in-home consultations alongside professional delivery and complete installation services. To guarantee absolute satisfaction within a client's unique living space, the business encourages customers to take advantage of an approval program, allowing them to try rugs directly in their homes before making a final commitment. Each private appointment is fully customized to address the distinct aesthetic preferences, spatial requirements, and functional demands of the project. Through this comprehensive and attentive approach to retail service, Eighteenth Street Oriental Rugs ensures that integrating fine floor coverings into any residential or commercial interior remains an enjoyable, seamless, and reliable endeavor.
