Tara Firma Farms

Tara Firma Farms operates as a prominent agricultural hub situated on a 238-acre property nestled in the scenic rolling hills of Petaluma, California. Located on I Street in Sonoma County, this working farm specializes in sustainable, regenerative agriculture practices that actively support regional ecological health. The farm’s core agricultural output centers on producing high-quality pasture-raised livestock, including 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef, pastured pork, and pasture-raised poultry. Operating with a commitment to pure, natural food production, all livestock are raised without the use of antibiotics or synthetic hormones, ensuring non-GMO meat products for conscientious consumers. Central to their farming methodology is Holistic Planned Grazing alongside integrated closed-loop systems. These environmental practices utilize compost created from locally sourced materials and organic food waste provided by Good Earth Natural Foods, positioning the Petaluma property at the forefront of modern carbon-conscious farming in Northern California.

In addition to direct agricultural production, Tara Firma Farms delivers a comprehensive customer service model designed to connect Bay Area households directly with locally grown food. The farm offers direct home delivery services across the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, providing conveniently packaged pasture-raised meats right to customers' front doors. Local patrons and visitors can also access the physical on-site Farm Store during standard public operating hours, while registered members enjoy daily farm access to explore the 238-acre landscape firsthand. Beyond direct-to-consumer sales and Community Supported Agriculture subscriptions, the property serves as a community center, hosting seasonal educational events, cooking resources via Cooks Corner, and public farm visits. Through partnerships and the educational efforts of the Tara Firma Institute, the farm remains dedicated to fostering regional food security, transparent meat sourcing, and interactive environmental stewardship throughout the northern Bay Area community.
