Character Wine

Character Wine, operating as heaVin Estate, is a family-owned boutique vineyard and winery situated at 6654 Shaw Hwy SE in Aumsville, Oregon. Nestled within the renowned Willamette Valley AVA, the vineyard features gentle, east-facing slopes with Nekia soil that benefit from moderate temperatures, summer sunlight, and ample winter rainfall. The winery specializes in crafting elegant, single-varietal wines and distinctive blends made exclusively from 100% estate-grown grapes. Since 2002, the team has employed hand-pruning and hand-harvesting techniques, purposefully keeping yields low to maintain limited production and high quality across every batch. Utilizing dry-farming practices that rely entirely on natural groundwater and rainfall, the vineyard produces unique, evolving flavor profiles with each harvest. This careful agricultural focus ensures that every bottle reflects the authentic terroir of the Aumsville estate.

Visitors can experience these hand-crafted boutique offerings during regular weekend hours from May through December, with no appointments required for tasting sessions. The winery provides an inviting destination for wine enthusiasts seeking unique local vintages, exclusive wine club memberships, and seasonal community gatherings. Guests at the estate can enjoy a variety of hosted experiences, ranging from wine member pick-up gatherings and live acoustic music performances to dog-friendly weekend events on the property grounds. By combining gentle grape handling with direct direct-to-consumer service, heaVin Estate offers an authentic Willamette Valley wine experience grounded in local family traditions. Whether exploring new vintages or joining the wine club, customers receive dedicated hospitality centered around carefully managed, estate-grown wines.
